Aetherius
The Legionnaire Pokémon
✦ MythicalEffigy Form
Back in the ancient times, when the Romans had a presence in Dakias, a golem named Aetherius was built to match their appearance. The craftsman behind it is said to have been the very same one who built Trajan's Bridge. Trajan commissioned him to build a protector of his newly conquered colony, and so the architect complied, and created Aetherius. In its Effigy Form, Aetherius is a defensive shield, walking with its rock-hard sandals and a sword stuck into its body. It simply roams around the region, waiting for a specific sound to be played and alert it of an incoming danger, in which case it enters its Gladiator Form. Previously, Aetherius was mistaken for Regigigas in analysis of Roman paintings, which questions the validity of claims that Regigigas ever even set foot in Dakias. We have yet to examine previous documents related to this.
Vital Signs
Gladiator Form
In its Gladiator Form, Aetherius's shields turn into shoulder pads, and its body becomes more serpentine. It uses the shoulder pads as gliders, which it uses to manipulate the wind around it and let it fly. A calculated and precise warrior, Aetherius gains significant power from the specific sound it heard — perhaps it's some sort of bond with the region itself that grants this. While the Effigy Form was rarely spotted in recent history, often in isolated mountain trails, the Gladiator Form was never seen, and the sketch of it is based on Roman drawings. The legends state that it can glide with the speed of an arrow, and its sword can cut a massive boulder with one swing. In all honesty, we do not know what this Pokémon is capable of. That is why we refuse to research ways to awaken it — after all, it could very well destroy everything in the misconception that the Romans were taken over.
