The constant through it all is that it's always an alcoholic substance, just not poisonous unless drunk excessively. In nature, it tends to act as a bartender, giving Pokémon wooden carved shots which it then proceeds to eat. It shows indifference towards the Pokémon that it leaves in a drunk state.
