Gorochu
The Holdout Pokémon
Frozen Heart Form
The evolution of Glacichu, Gorochu becomes significantly more
aggressive and fatty. But surprisingly enough, it actually
becomes faster and attacks both physically and specially. It's
an underhanded but clever tactic in which the user relies on its
perceived body mass to make the opponent believe it will move
slowly, when it can quickly dish out massive blows from up close
or afar. Its buoyant body lets it float on water, allowing it to
carry Glacichu on its belly when they are tired. They
specifically huddle up close in the water when they sleep, so
when a Cresnewdan comes they could notice the temperature shift
in the water ahead of time. It uses its horns to target the
middle body section of a Cresnewdan too.
On another note, a peculiar interaction happened when one of our
Kantonian visiting researchers brought a Raichu with him, and
Dr. Larice's Gorochu immediately puffed its chest in front of
it, trying to establish dominance. Perhaps Gorochu recognised
some sort of connection for it to react so strongly.
Vital Signs
Thawed Heart Form
The Thawed Heart Form of Gorochu occurs when Gorochu reaches 1 HP or is about to faint. The frozen ice hard heart inside of its chest starts melting, and once it thaws out, Gorochu transforms into a small Pokémon that resembles Pichu. In this form, Gorochu is extremely aggressive and fast, but also fragile. In documented encounters, this form is typically used to buy time for its group to flee, although there are instances of the sacrifice themselves surviving. A thawed heart Gorochu is significantly more emotive, and trainers have spoken about keeping them in cages for 24 hours until they return to normal.
Vital Signs
*Either Attack or Special Attack is 105 and the other is 15, determined by whichever offensive stat was higher at the moment Thawed Heart triggered. Attack and Special Attack can never both be 105 at the same time.
